What is Jeuveau?
This is the newest in the botulinum toxin type A injectable used in the treatment of wrinkles. Sometimes referred to as the new Botox or “Newtox” for short because it’s a new version with the same active ingredient used in original Botox Cosmetic injections. It was designed for aesthetic purposes exclusively. 

Jeuveau or Botox?
While it shares some similarities with Botox, there are key characteristics that make this injectable stand apart from the other botulinum toxins.  In some studies, it has been shown to last a little bit longer than Botox. You can expect the result to last four months while some patients have reported results lasting six months.  One thing to remember with any injectable is that results do vary.  The results are not seen immediately.  Expect to see your wrinkles diminish by day three to four while with Botox, results are evident on day five or six. Jeuveau and Botox are made by two different companies and in two different countries.  Botox contains onabotulinumtoxinA and Jeuveau contains prabotulinumtoxinA both compounds share similar profiles and are equally safe and effective at treating wrinkles.  Jeuveau is a better fit for certain types of facial wrinkles compared to Botox. While great at targeting the glabella lines or the number 11 lines between your eyes, it is also used for forehead lines, and crow’s feet.

Does It have FDA approval?
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved for the treatment of wrinkles in February 2019. It’s a new type of botulinum toxin A injection.
